Shalom Chaim,

Thank you for answering our questions...

1) Could you explain why it is that Noach who is considered 'Righteous in his generation' was not on the same level as Abraham?

2) I have noticed an increase in antisemitic postings on many Internet websites and talkbacks. Have you noticed this also? If so what do you suggest we do about it. True there is the issue of 'free speech' but the Jewish people cannot just sit back and allow the Jew haters to spew their garbage. I am getting increasingly upset about this and have rebuked many of the posts I have read. What is this leading to, and can anything be done to change it?

3) Do you believe that Jewish unity is important? I obviously believe that it is essential for the Jewish people to be united no matter what external, and despite much internal, differences we have. Last week I asked about kiruv/outreach and you said you think it is important. But from time to time I see some squabbles between different kinds of Jews here at JTF. Yes, I share every religious Jews concern about the reform movements infidelity to Hashem, but I do not immediately curse a Jew because he is affiliated with such a congregation. What are your ideas about Jewish unity and Ahavat Yisroel/Love your Fellow?

Thank you,
Michael

Dear Chaim

What is Mitt Romneys position on Affirmative Action?

There is a lot going on in my life right now.  They are going to close the plant where my dad works eliminating 150 people.  My dad will probably retire with severance pay with the possibility of getting another job or if possible get transferred somewhere else within the company which will mean some major changes.  I also recently got temporarily laid off from this seasonal job I have been doing.  And it looks like they are going to close my grandmothers workplace as well even though she is old enough to retire.  I pretty much blame all of this on the current presidential administrations hostility towards businesses and places of employment towards America especially if they're not corrupt corporations and places that are union.  I just want you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks and god bless, you, Israel and the Jewish people!

Tag-MehirTzedek:
Shalom-
Can you please tell us the history of the Bar Kochba revolt. I recently learned (  In the Meiri) that in actuality the vast majority (except 1) of the Hachamim supported the revolt against Rome and backed Bar Kochba (and other revolts as well) and really the martyrs that are read during Tishabav, were martyrd because Rome saw them as threats. For example Rabbi Akiva who'm the Rambam refers to as the "arms bearer" of Bar Kochba (not in literal sense though). Another thing that Bar Kochba died a natural death, was succeeded by his son who also died a natural death and then by his grandson who was killed by Rome(ans). And that their reign lasted for 21 years. Is this accurate?
Hints of (the above part) is also found in the writing of Rav Sharira Gaon who says that the students of Rabbi Akiva died in a Shmada, and not as usually said today- by some disease. We can put the different things together and see the big picture and see that they died fighting for G-D and the Jewish nation, and died Al- Pi Kiddush Hash-m.
What went terribly wrong. Why were we not successful? Please elaborate with your wisdom, knowledge/facts and opinions (distinguish between them if you can as well).

Tag-MehirTzedek:
Also on a completely separate topic- Can you share your knowledge about Parshat Braisheet. What really happened in the Garden on Eden. Is it all a parable, factualy events (literal) or what. Please elaborate. (If not enough time for this week, you can save this question for next week and go into as many details as possible(if you like).

Here are the zootube questions.

Israel is now desperately trying to find friends wherever they can as the whole world is now righteouslty turning their backs in total disgust at the sickeningly racist ethnocentric apartheid.

Imagine that all the countries in the UN (except America) voted to give the Jews the state of New York for a country of their own. And the Jews held a meeting and declared independence in the state of New York. And then the U.S. army came to fight them. Would it then be self-defense to fight back against the U.S. army?

It is inconsistent to condemn something and then accept benefits from it. If a Jew living in Eretz Yisroel feels that he is benefiting from the state, because he thinks that the Arabs are murderers and the state is protecting him from them, then he should not live there. However, if a Jew advocates the dismantling of the state and has no problem living under an Arab government, he may live in Eretz Yisroel.

Torah Jewry protests at every opportunity against the Zionist rule over the Holy Land, and the Zionist rebellion against the neighboring nations. Torah Jewry has condemned the Zionist oppression of the Palestinians, the land's veteran inhabitants who have been driven from their homes and properties. The Zionists' barbaric and violent deeds are absolutely antithetical to the essence of the Jewish people.

Gd Bless You, Your Loved Ones & The Chosen People.
Bryan.
