From this ISS photo it is clear what a vulnerable 50-mile sliver of a country Israel is



The L-rd had deliberately placed the Land at a vulnerable crux of the continents in order to provoke the Jew to pray to Him for their security: "Unless the L-rd watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain" (Tehillim 127).
