In 1981, Weston was convicted of starving a man to death in a closet of her Philadelphia home.

She was charged with beating the man with a hammer, tying him up in a closet with only three meals over the course of two months, and beating him with broomsticks, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. When he died, his body was stuffed into a plastic bag and dumped it in an abandoned house, according to the newspaper. Weston served eight years in prison.

Sometimes I think about people who are somewhere held captive, like confined children or adults not allowed to see the outside world at all, with often times the neighbors knowing nothing about it. Once in a while these stories hit the news, but I don't think they always do. Some of the perpetrators get away with it. I think sometimes it's good to pray for these confined people in those situations, knowing that somewhere to someone it is happening.
