about Catholic universities forced to pay for contraceptives

I have not posted in months, but I wanted to address the matter on the subject line.

There's a lot of static on this board about the issue of Georgetown law student, and this is a deserved subject.  I agree that it's ridiciulous that a religious institution should be forced to pay for things that are morally unacceptable to that religious institution.  However, I have no sympathy for Georgetown University in particular nor the Catholic church in general.

Let me explain.

For years, the Catholic church in the United States has been a major cheerleader for left-wing causes associated with redistribution of wealth, including Obama-care, amnesty for illegal immigrants, just to name two.  I've personally met Catholic nuns and priests who are avowed socialists if not hardened communists.

Specific to Georgetown, their leadership invited Obama to speak at their institution early in his tenure, and even physically obscured crosses and like symbols that might appear behind Obama during filming.  Georgetown did that voluntarily.

And now, the snake has turned, and the Catholic Church and Georgetown are genuines surprised.

There's an old expression:  "Sleep with dogs, and you'll get fleas."

Bon appetit, Catholic Church and Georgetown.
