Crown Heights, Brooklyn — A Bochur was viciously beaten last night by two Black men in an attempted mugging. The incident took place on President Street between Brooklyn and Kingston at around 10:30pm.
The two perpetrators pulled out what appeared to be a real gun and pointed at the Bochur and demanded his money, but the Bochur, who did not speak English tried to answer them and amongst the confusion the perps began to beat him.

B”H at that time R. Moshe Rubashkin, Chairman of the Vaad Hakohol and Dovid Tamrzgui were just leaving R. Moshes house on President St. when they heard the screams of the Bochur and both of them along with two other bystanders scared them off.
Hatzalah was called for the injured Bochur and the group then began to pursue the two perps who fled up Brooklyn to Eastern Parkway then down towards Kingston all the while scream for Yidden to ‘Chaptzem’.
R. Berel Zucker who was on his way home from a wedding heard the calls for help and turned around to see the perps running right up to him, he quickly reacted and stopped one of the perps and a very large crowd immediately gathered and surrounded and held the perp.
The second perp attempted to run towards 770 but another large group came after him and turned around and began fleeing towards Lincoln Place where he was stopped and held as well.
Officers of 71st Precinct responded to this incident with large force and immediately arrested the two perps that were being held, and the witnesses of the crime were taken into the precinct to give statements.
Avrohom Leider of Ahavas Chesed told CrownHeights.info that he there making sure that the Bochur had everything he needed and his that his stay in Kings County Hospital was as pleasant as possible. He was treated for injuries he sustained to his head.
Later that night R. Moshe Rubashkin invited all those that helped the Bochur and catch the two perpetrator to his house and thank them including the witnesses, Shomrim members and those that caught them.
