The Nudists are Coming!
« on: May 17, 2012, 10:15:10 PM »
As this country quickly slides into moral oblivion with the legalization of perverted homosexual marriages, Times cover pages exposing a woman breastfeeding a six years old child, and racial preferences which allow the criminal to be viewed as the victim, here is another example of the madness.

I believe that the Nudists will be the next group who will expect special rights and privileges. If the entire moral code of the Torah is wrong to the liberal mind, then who is to say that a man or woman must cover themselves with clothing? The Torah clearly says that Hashem intended for us to be clothed, because of the shame of being undressed and the immodesty... But the liberal progressive abhors Torah and feels that the human body is nothing to be 'ashamed of'. Thus the Nudists have always exerted a pressure to allow people to walk around undressed.

Today I read in the news that a woman walked into two businesses completely naked, completely casually as if nothing was wrong... Maybe the 'civil rights' movement will want to press for laws to protect the nudist saying that nobody has the authority to force another person to do something which they don't want to do {being dressed}.

So be prepared for the future when Nudists will walk freely around, breastfeeding each other or their pet animals. Does this image remind you of Sodom and Amora? It does remind me...

Quote
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. –  Shoppers at two New York stores got a shock after a naked woman calmly walked in and asked for the time.

A security camera at Curtis Lumber in Ballston Spa, N.Y., captured the moment the woman entered the store and approached two employees, the Times Union newspaper reported.

The woman -- identified by Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy III as Barbara Lafleur, of Saratoga Springs -- then walked out after telling one employee, "Have a good day."

She then walked into a Stewart's shop nearby, before being asked to leave.

One employee told the newspaper, "The manager said, 'Ma'am, are you aware you have no clothes on?' She was kosher and cool about it, and the manager told her she needed to leave."

Murphy said Lafleur was charged with public lewdness.

In a statement, he said, "While the defendant claimed she was merely expressing her freedom to be fully liberated by walking nude into Stewart's and Curtis Lumber, this alleged conduct is actually a crime under the penal law. Surprisingly, mental health found no psychiatric issues whatsoever."

Lafleur was released pending a future court appearance in Ballston Spa and could face a maximum of 90 days in jail if convicted.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

I personally think that the human body is nothing to be ashamed of, and I am an existentialist humanist, but walking onto private and even public property nude is against the law and should be because property laws should be respected.

Born nude, die nude. Just kidding

It used to be that if you get caught nude in public you either get taken to a psychiatric hold or become a sex offender. I don't want to see people walking around naked. Keep that at home (and away from the windows)

I think there is good nude and bad nude. The streets are not the place, and other crowded places like public transportation.  but I think its ok at the beach and in open space in nature, at least in certain designated places.

I think that people should dress modestly. If there was a secluded place with no other people around then you shouldn't have to wear clothes if you don't want to but out in public is a very different matter.

But people who want to go nude outdoor should have the option to so somewhere. Why should your preference for modesty trump their preference for nudity ?

Here is some discussion of why Hashem wants humans to wear clothing...

By Rabbi Aron Tendler

Darling, Your Clothes Are Divine

Why are the clothing of the Kohain Gadol - High Priest and those of the standard Kohain described in such detail in this week's Parsha?

The garments serve an important function in fostering our relationship with G-d and therefore must be described in detail. However, why did G-d place such an importance on the clothing of the Kohanim to begin with? What intrinsic value is there is there to the clothing, and what lessons can we learn from them?

Clothing was first introduced into society after Adam and Chava sinned with the Tree of Knowledge. In fact, the story of their sinning is bracketed between two references to clothing. 1) (Ber.2:25) "And Adam and his wife were naked" 2) (Ber. 3:21) "G-d made garments of leather and He clothed them." The Torah was contrasting the changes in G-d's relationship with Adam and Chava before they sinned with after they had sinned. Before they sinned they did not have to wear clothing and after they had sinned they had to wear clothing.

Clothing appears to be a consequence for the sin of having eaten from the Tree of Knowledge. The rule of thumb regarding consequences is that G-d's consequences always serve to rehabilitate and correct not merely to punish. Therefore, the need to wear clothing is in some way associated with protecting us from further sinning and correcting the reasons why Adam and Chava sinned to begin with.

Adam and Chava sinned because they allowed their materialistic and animalistic inclinations to dominate their divine ability to choose to do good. By endowing humankind with freewill, G-d gave us the ability to choose between right and wrong. He gave us the ability to rise above the physical urgings of our bodies and / or our intellects, and sanctify our animal selves through discipline and service to Him.

If an alien were to observe our world from the distance and analyze the behaviors of those creatures that move freely upon her surface, he would have to conclude that only one species appears to change their outerwear from moment to moment. The wearing and changing of our clothes would be the very first noticeable difference between humans and all other creatures. Therefore, clothing sets us apart from all other animals in the most overt and obvious way possible.

Bereishit(Genesis 1:1-6:8)
Clothing of Light
CLOTHING OF LIGHT1

In the aftermath of man's sin in Eden, Adam and Eve find themselves exposed, vulnerable, humiliated - naked.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew2 that they were naked.3

In a feeble attempt to cover themselves they take fig leaves and fashion a primitive covering.

...and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons [loincloths?]. (Genesis 3:7)

Their purpose was to cover up their nakedness. The choice of fig leaves has caused at least one rabbinic tradition to identify the Tree of Knowledge with the fig tree4: In a frantic attempt to cover up, they chose the closest material at hand.

Subsequently - after the investigation, trial, sentencing and punishment, we find the conclusion of the saga, and again it addresses their attire:

For Adam and for his wife the Lord G-d made coats of skins, and clothed them (Genesis 3:21).

The difference is striking: Adam and Eve found flimsy fig leaves and fashioned a loin cloth of sorts, whereas G-d provides fine leather coats to protect and provide shelter from the elements. While man only managed to cover up, G-d provided man with clothing "and clothed them". While man simply didn't want to be stark naked in public, G-d chose to act with kindness. Despite the sin and the resultant alienation, G-d performs an incredibly tender gesture: He clothes them, He cares for them; He takes care of wayward, sinful man.

We exist in a world of clothing and costumes, and it all began with a fig leaf. It was only by virtue of the bite taken from a mysterious, dangerous, deadly fruit that an awareness of nakedness appeared. But what was the nature of this nakedness? Was it physical or spiritual? Was the awareness of their nakedness the result of a spiritual shift, of a metamorphosis which occurred in the aftermath of sin? Or was man altered in a more physical fashion?

We would have expected that sin would cause a spiritual reaction - but we see that the response of Adam and Eve is to cover up their bodies which had become vulnerable; they became embarrassed, humiliated. Perhaps this is the result of their souls feeling alienated. But what of their souls? Did they seek spiritual cover? How does one cover up a tainted soul? Surely the soul was impacted, damaged and tainted with sin by their action. What was the reaction?

There are places where being nude is acceptable, and nudist events if people are into that kind of thing. I don't think it's right to be nude in public though. I also think the whole nudist thing is disgusting.
