The Rebbe Writes to Orthodox Sceintists

Lubab:

--- Quote from: jdl4ever on June 27, 2007, 03:05:48 PM --- I'm sure the scientists that read his letter did not appreciate it and found it insulting but they wanted to be nice to the Rebbe.

--- End quote ---

Can you prove that statement or is that a probability :D?

Lubab:
"Heisenberg’s ‘principle of indeterminacy’ has finally done away with the traditional scientific notion that cause and effect are mechanically linked, so that it is now quite unscientific to hold that one event is an inevitable consequence of another, but only most probable"

Enough said. You don't like it, go argue with Heisenberg.

I won't tolerate belitteling of this great Tzaddik and genius on my section and if it continues I will lock the thread.

jdl4ever:
I understand completely Heisenberg's uncertainty principle (more than the Rebbe did)  and explained it above.  I have a degree in Chemistry and studied this theory.   I mistakenly called it the Bohr theory but I corrected my previous post since the Bohr theory was a previous basic theory of atomic orbit that was updated with the more complex Heisenberg uncertainty principle.  As I stated before, this theory states that electrons orbit an atom in orbitals as the Bohr theory states.  But it goes further and states that the orbitals are not circular like Bohr thought but a complex 3-d graphical function, for example the 1s orbital is shaped like a sphere and the p orbitals look like dumbells.  The place where the electron in an orbital is found is these graphs is defined by probability.  It is probable that at a given time the electron in the 1s orbital is somewhere in this sphere shaped area around the electron.  However, the electron is definitely in a specific place and can theoretically be traced to an exact place in this sphere.  Not like the Rebbe said that you can't prove anything in science, which is ridiculous.

Lubab:
Locked for continued disrespect of Torah giant.

Take it somewhere else. Not here.

jdl4ever:
Fine, you are the Rabbi here so I'll respect you and adhere to your locking but let the record state that I disagree with you consider arguing with the Rebbe using Torah taboo.
