Abraham gave gifts: Our Sages explained that he gave them “the name of impurity” (Sanh. 91a). Another explanation: All that was given to him because of Sarah and the other gifts that were given to him, all these he gave to them, for he did not wish to benefit from them.

The first answer does not make sense. Why would Avraham give them things to practice idolatry? Perhaps he gave them the knowledge of these things and what to be careful about not to follow and not to do the opposite of Monotheism. Perhaps it was deeper knowledge of how these things work and how not to be dooped by the inhabitants to where these people were to be sent (to the East away from Avraham's home where idolatry was rampant). Besides- the sages as well also knew these knowledge, one had to know in order to sit on the Sanhedrin soo he would be able to make judgement when it came to idol worship.
