Medicare under ObamaCare a disaster

An author and head of a free-market think tank is warning senior citizens that ObamaCare will be "disastrous" for them.

Sally Pipes, president of the Pacific Research Institute (PRI) and author of The Truth About ObamaCare, says many senior citizens have bought into the president's claim that that "if you like your healthcare plan, you'll be able to keep your healthcare plan." But now, as she continues to sound the alarm, more seniors are realizing that ObamaCare is not the best plan for them.

Sally Pipes (PRI)"Medicare will be cut by $575 billion over ten years -- and the chief actuary, Richard Foster, said this is definitely going to affect the ability of seniors to have access to healthcare and access to getting doctors," she reports. "And today, one in three new Medicare-eligible patients is already having a hard time finding a [doctor]."

Roughly 11 million senior citizens currently use the private Medicare program -- and according to Pipes, they are unhappy with Obama's plans for that service.

"The president said that he wanted to get rid of Medicare Advantage because he thought it was too costly and the outcomes didn't justify the cost," she notes. "Well, our seniors on Medicare Advantage...like it, and they're becoming increasingly upset about the fact that they won't have the choices [that they've had] in private healthcare plans."

The PRI president tells OneNewsNow that seniors need to keep the pressure up by addressing representatives in Washington and their own state capitals about the plan to get rid of the current healthcare plan.
