amusing foul-up mentioned at Olympics opening ceremony
« on: July 29, 2012, 07:59:39 AM »
I watched the 'parade of nations' at the opening ceremony.  When Kazakstan (sp?) came out, the NBC narrator mentioned that there was some Kazakstan international sports team was participating in some international sports event, and when the time came to pay the Kazakstan national anthem, what came blaring out of the loudspeakers was the anthem as written in that famed Borat satire -- incredible.

When I heard that, I thought to post that here.

I guess maybe that makes that Korea foul-up a bit more tolerabe.  If you didn't hear that one, a North Korean soccer team was prepared to play their opening Olympic game, and the scoreboard was showing the North Korean players' photos opposite the South Korean flag.   The North Koreans threw a fit that delayed the start of the game by an hour.  Again, how do such foul-ups happen?
