Polls shows most Israelis against strike on Iran
« on: August 20, 2012, 04:09:30 PM »
1) Maybe the poll question was worded in a way that would elicit an against strike response.

2) Maybe they interviewed only left wing Jews who are inclined not to attack.

3) Maybe the Israelis honestly think Israel doesn't have the fire power to do it.   Maybe they lost confidence after the near loss in the 2006 war with Hizbolla.

Who Knows, but here's the article

"new poll issued Thursday said 61 percent of Israelis believe Iran should not be attacked without U.S. consent."

The wordings and subjective situations are such that more and more concerned persons will be inclined to vote only for this simpler option. It is good that 39% have objectively rejected this offer.

Even if the poll is unbiased, who cares what they think?  How many Jews in Germany in 1936 thought that it was best not to pack up and move out?  My point is that not everyone knows what's best even for themselves.  It's so easy to put your head in the sand, so to speak, and not see the big picture.

That's a great point!   But I also think the Israeli public doesn't have  strong faith in Netenyahu or the Israeli military.

You're right, they don't, which is very unfortunate for a country whose very existence depends on strong political will and military might and action.
