It wouldn't surprise me if the polls are skewed purposely. If polls were correct in israel Shimom Peres would have been elected prime minister 5 or 6 times.

Why is that no party is now raising the questions regarding the Afghan war. Is this question now turning counterproductive to both the parties.

Aside from Gerald Ford who shot himself in the foot by pardoning Richard Nixon, the only incumbent president to loose a bid for a second term was George Herbert Walker Bush and then going back to the 19th Century.  That is a tough fact.  It is not impossible but those are tough odds.

whaaa???  What a strange warping of facts.  what about Carter?.....    So for the last 6 presidents..... Ford, Carter, Herbert Walker were single termed...... vs.... Reagan, Clinton, 'W'...were double terms
3 vs 3.

Once again, Romney is missing another opportunity to say that more US troops are dying in Afghanistan under Obama than under Bush and the Taliban is gaining strength

Good point.  I can't help but think the media has an agenda to make it look like the convention improved obama's popularity, whether that is the case or not.

The purpose of this thread is not to create despair and defeatism, G-d forbid. Obviously, our goal is the opposite - we want to motivate everyone to act before it is too late. This is an uphill fight but it's not hopeless. We still have almost two months to go before election day. We still have four debates coming up.

Our point here is that we must do everything possible to prevent the catastrophe of a second Obama term. If we all work together and if the election is close, we could potentially make a difference. In any event, we are obligated to try.

Amen.  I tried posting something on my facebook page that was about Jews and their fate in THIS country (America).  Can you believe not one person responded to the post or signed the petition, not ONE!!!  We are looking at food that someone had for Breakfast and other completely irrelevant nonsense and NOT ONE person signed that petition or even gave it a Thumbs up!  The Jewish people are just determined not to see what is right in front of us and THAT is what's terrifying.

Yes. I agree. I wonder what Chaim thinks about this in the Next Ask JTF?

He should speak about that in intro of the upcoming Ask JTF.

I feel a little differently. I think Romney is going to win. However, it is a matter of unbrainwashing the very sheep that voted for Obama in the first place...especially the ones who are worse off.

What gives me hope is that the people I come into contact with, at work, seem to be turning against Obama.  A majority of them tell me they voted for him the first time, but won't this time.  I'm talking about the 'client'.  Even some of the professional people are turning against him or at least willing to criticize him 'out loud'.  That is a BIG change.  I'm not so sure the polls accurately reflect what people are thinking.  I know I usually participate in political research phone calls, just so I get a feel for what is going on.  You can tell a lot from the questions being asked.  Not this time.  I don't care.  I don't have time.  I know I feel a pinch in my pocket.  You need deep pockets just to leave your house in the morning.  So I have hope that Obama won't win...unless of course the balloting will be rigged, in favor of Obamie, like my Uncle believes.

I think if Romney wins, I think he will just win the electoral college and not the popular vote.  That's just what some of these experts have predicted like Everett E. Murdock.

The Chinese economy is invading the US home market. The question can be raised that no sufficient efforts are being made to strengthen the home economy.

We just can't make predictions until after the convention bounce is over.  If we use Mcaine as a comparison... he got a NICE bounce from the convention, and it faded about 2 weeks later and was exactly where he started....

Unfortunately, as Chaim pointed out... Romney got almost no bounce from the GOP convention... a rarity, but we all know its because the GOP convention was EXTREMELY tame/lame... even moreso than in 2008.

I find it hard to believe that the 2004 convention with McLame was better than this years.

Other than Eastwood, no one attacked Obama.   It was pathetic, and apparently, as dumb as it seems, a strategic decision they made.....

It's that idiot John McCain's fault. He should have bashed Obama's head in over the Tony Rezko incident.  Clearly, Obama committed a fraudulent act w/ Rezko.  Instead, McCain let it slide.  Now, is it too late to bash Obama over this?  I say Hell NO!!!!!

In 2008, we had numerous people on this forum who did not believe the polls and insisted that McCain would beat Obama. On Ask JTF every week, I warned then that the polls were accurate more or less and that Obama was winning by a substantial margin.

We are now back to a similar situation unfortunately. I am not at all surprised. I warned for years that it would be very difficult to defeat Obama because of the leftwing news media and their viciously distorted reporting.

There are still four debates coming up and about eight weeks left until election day. So we can still win but it will be difficult. We need everyone to get involved in helping promote our videos and our forum, and in helping us financially. We need to try our best to make a difference, G-d willing. We still have a chance.

For sure, the left-wing media have a lot to do with Obama's lead in the polls.  However, I do believe that this country, in general, are made up of a majority of people who a) have great animosity towards wealthy people (like Romney) and b) are dependent on the government for relief.  And this majority of people will vote in greater numbers for Obama, the socialist/communist, than for Romney, the capitalist.  As I see it, the great Middle Class is destroyed, and they're going to turn to the Dems, who they believe will help them.  They're being duped, of course, because we're going the way of Greece, and our future will not be rosy.

I got news for you buddy. We're not going the way of Greece, we're already there. The major difference is that the US has resources and a relatively strong economy so the [censored] hasn't hit the fan yet. As such, you are correct in that the problem lies with the number of people who want something for nothing and who believe that the rich should pay for it. The simple fact that the rich, if taxed at 100%, cannot support the levels of future spending being promised by the Democrats and pay off the existing $16 trillion deficit doesn't seem to phase them. This also assumes that the rich are going to willingly stick around to be taxed at whatever level the Democrats see fit to tax them at.

If we compare with last election polls.... shortly after the DNC convention, we were at a double digit deficit.   We are clearly in a better position than in 2008, but we are still slightly behind.  This will be closer than the 2008.

During an economical boom, the upper layers of the lower classes move up to mix up with the middle classes and vote for GOP. Conversely during an economical slowdown, the same lower layers of the middle classes go down to mix up with the lower classes and vote for Dems. So Dems will always have a hidden interest in keeping the economy low. That means the Dems will always have a hidden interest in transformation that is vocally dynamic but that keeps the economy low.

Someone intelligent has to research in a fruitful manner and catch how and where is this transformation that is vocally dynamic but that keeps the economy low.

The other force working against Romney is the federal reserve which is once again trying to boost the stock market by promising to print more money.  Once again this should be easy ammo for Romney to use slogans like 'bernanke helping wall street.'. Unfortunately he is silent
