The 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe Admor Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn,ZT"L,ZY"A (or maybe some other chassidic admor) said  a schvartzer is a memutza tzvishen menchen und beheimos( a negro is the missing link between men & animals.
