Seven Egyptian Christians and a Florida-based pastor were sentenced to death Wednesday for their participation in the controversial anti-Islam video "Innocence of Muslims," Reuters reported.
"The seven accused persons were convicted of insulting the Islamic religion through participating in producing and offering a movie that insults Islam and its prophet," Judge Saif al-Nasr Soliman said.
The case was largely symbolic since the seven men and one woman are outside of Egypt and unlikely to travel to the country to face the charges.
"Innocence of Muslims" was produced privately in California and sparked protests across the Muslim world for its depiction of Muhammad as a religious fraud, pedophile and womanizer.

Anyone who tried to murder these brave and heroic individuals should be terminated with extreme prejudice. Any court which imposes a fatwah on an individual who expresses his opinion, as it is his/her right to do so, deserves death themselves for issuing such a cruel decree.
