Guess What Dropped in For Chanukah Menorah Lighting?
« on: December 13, 2012, 12:38:23 AM »
Tonight while I was lighting my menorah I was privileged to have an unexpected guest. Here at JTF I have already discussed some of the critters in my backyard. I just discovered we have another critter which I was not aware of... It appears that the Raccoon in my yard was very interested in my Chanukah Menorah lighting. The little guy came right up to where I was lighting and was not intimidated by the fire or my tapping on the window glass...

Here are some photos I snapped of my new yard critter:

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

Have any of you seen this funny eyeglass commercial on television with the racoon?

In the commercial there's a woman who badly needs glasses, who is calling for her cat to come in the house.  She going "Here kitty kitty kitt."  But she can't see that it's really a racoon coming in her house rather than her cat.

That's cute Muman! I do think you need to make sure you don't leave any food outside your house at night though. They're very smart animals and might try to figure out how to get inside, if for example, you have food sitting on your table. They can be very strong and slide the glass door open do make sure you keep it locked after sunset too even if you're not going to bed yet.
