One of the things I feel led to pray about is people in captivity. I started doing this on a regular basis when i first heard about stories of feral children like Genie.

Children and sometimes adults are sometimes locked in small rooms or basements with minimal or no contact with the outside world for years on end, suffering abuse. Once in a while stories will come out in the media about someone emerging from a situation like this.
Like this story:

http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/21/justice/pennsylvania-disabled-chained/index.htmlOften it's a girl or a young woman that is locked up for 10 years, 20 years, or even longer with no outside help. There have also been cases of boys or men being forced into captivity too though, like a boy who escaped being chained to a toilet and beaten up and walked out of his house and found a neighbor to help him while he had the chains still attached to him.
What these stories tell me is that somewhere, right now, in a dark basement, in a "camp", in a small bedroom, in a cage, etc. there are people who are being beaten, tortured, raped, isolated from society, worked to death, etc. There are people who probably think nobody in the world knows about them or cares about them. And help might not come for decades, if ever. When or if they finally do escape, then they can often be so damaged mentally or otherwise that it may be nearly impossible for them to live a normal life.
So if you have time among your prayers please make room to pray for captives, that they might be set free, and healed.
