Columbia prof unleashes ‘anti-Jewish screed’
Joseph Massad / Columbia University

A tenured Columbia University professor is facing criticism for claiming in a column published Tuesday by Al Jazeera that Zionism is anti-Semitic and that the Jewish people who opposed Zionism and Israel died in the Holocaust, a notion that critics deemed anti-Semitic.      http://www.columbia.edu/cu/mesaas/faculty/directory/massad.html

Columbia Arab politics professor Joseph Massad wrote that the Nazis successfully “killed the majority of Jewish enemies of Zionism,” or those Jews who might oppose Israel today.              http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2013/05/201351275829430527.html

“While the majority of Jews continued to resist the anti-Semitic basis of Zionism and its alliances with anti-Semites, the Nazi genocide not only killed 90 percent of European Jews, but in the process also killed the majority of Jewish enemies of Zionism who died precisely because they refused to heed the Zionist call of abandoning their countries and homes,” Massad wrote, before discussing “the affinity between Nazis and Zionists.”

Massad also condemned America and the West for touting “pro-Zionist Nazi policies.”

One of Massad’s colleagues at Columbia said his piece “reflects profound ignorance of Jewish history.”

“The notion that the Protestant Reformation is the basis for Jews’ belief in the continuity of Jewish life from ancient times, or for their ties to the land of Israel, reflects profound ignorance of Jewish history,” Professor Paul S. Appelbaum, the university’s Dollard Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine, and Law, said in an email.

Appelbaum said that Massad skews history in order to slander Jews and Christians.

“The chain of Jewish tradition and the centrality of the land of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people have been a focus of Jewish thought, daily prayer, and self-consciousness since the destruction of the Second Temple and the subsequent exile of the majority of Jews,” Appelbaum said, refuting Massad’s core argument.

“The contention can only be understood as a rhetorical device aimed at slandering Jews and Christians simultaneously, setting the stage for the essay’s rather dubious conclusion that only the Palestinians stand ‘in the way of a complete victory for European anti-Semitism,’” he said. “Such an excursion into post-modern fantasy does not deserve to be taken seriously.”

Prominent Middle East observers such as Atlantic writer Jeffrey Goldberg quickly criticized Massad for arguing that “all the good Jews”—i.e., those who opposed the creation of Israel—“were killed in the Holocaust.”            https://twitter.com/JeffreyGoldberg/status/334297509658767360

“Congratulations, al Jazeera,” Goldberg tweeted, “You’ve just posted one of the most anti-Jewish screeds in recent memory.”
https://twitter.com/JeffreyGoldberg/status/334301840860663808
Columbia University spokesmen and several other representatives declined multiple requests for comment on the controversy when approached by the Washington Free Beacon.

Massad argued in his 4,000-word piece that the state of Israel is the chief proprietor of anti-Semitism and that so-called Zionists colluded with and courted the Nazis and other anti-Semites in order to spur Israel’s creation.

These types of anti-Semitic theories are typically propagated by Holocaust deniers and other various anti-Semites.

“Israel’s claim that its critics must be anti-Semites presupposes that its critics believe its claims that it represents ‘the Jewish people,’” he wrote. “But it is Israel’s claims that it represents and speaks for all Jews that are the most anti-Semitic claims of all.”

Israel demands that “for there to be peace in the Middle East, Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims must become, like the West, anti-Semites by espousing Zionism and recognising Israel’s anti-Semitic claims,” Massad wrote.

Massad incorrectly writes that Jewish Zionists rushed to befriend the Nazis in order to advance their political agenda.

“The Zionists would strike a deal with the Nazis very early in their history,” he wrote. “Zionist envoys were dispatched to Palestine to report on the successes of Jewish colonization of the country.”

“The Nazis’ Final Solution initially meant the expulsion of Germany’s Jews to Madagascar,” Massad said. “It is this shared goal of expelling Jews from Europe as a separate unassimilable race that created the affinity between Nazis and Zionists all along.”

Massad has a loose grasp on Nazism and history, his critics argued.

“Zionism, according to Massad, emerged not as a response to European anti-Semitism but in sympathy with its racialist precepts,” wrote columnist and blogger Liam Hoare.                         http://youngcontrarian.tumblr.com/post/50430800882/joseph-massads-problem-with-rooted-cosmopolitans

“As for the comparison of Nazism and Zionism, I think such an attempt at equivalence says a good deal more about the author than he intends,” Hoare writes. “It is the statement of a sick and disordered mind. To compare the two and deem one as bad as the other is beyond the pale.”

Hoare excoriates Massad for his comments about the so-called “good Jews” being killed off by the Nazis.

“It is not much of a stretch to characterise Massad’s thesis as follows: All of Europe’s good Jews were the ones that did not heed to call to make aliya [immigration to Israel] and died in the Holocaust; the Zionist Jews who made it to Palestine and survived were (and are) bad Jews,” Hoare wrote, before summing up the essay thusly: “It’s enough to make you heave.”
Thy destroyers and they that make thee waste shall go forth of thee.  Isaiah 49:17

THE MUSLIM HITLER, HAJ AMIN AL-HUSSEINI, WAS PROMISED LEADERSHIP OF ISRAEL [PALESTINE] AFTER ANNIHILATION OF THE JEWS

Hitler's Muslim Armies

Islamic Jew hatred. It's what drives the genocide of the Jews in the Muslim world today. It's what drove the Muslim world in their partnership with Hitler, and it fueled the oppression, humiliation, and slaughter of the Jews throughtout Islamic history.

The role of the Mufti and the Muslim world in World War II has been whitewashed from history. Why? So that they might rise again to commit the same unspeakable, horrific crimes againt humanity?

Haj Amin al-Husseini should have been executed at Nuremberg. Instead, he was given the same status of The Jewish Agency at the UN in 1947, when it was debating the partition of the Jewish State, despite the stunning evidence (documents, files, etc.) against him (outlined here) and presented to the UN.

According to testimony by Nazi war criminals, the Mufti's influence was critical to the German decision to annihilate the Jews of Europe. At the Nuremberg Trials in July 1946, Eichmann's deputy Dieter Wisliceny (subsequently executed as a war criminal) testified: (here)

"The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and adviser of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan... He was one of Eichmann's best friends and had constantly incited him to accelerate the extermination measures. I heard him say, accompanied by Eichmann, he had visited incognito the gas chambers of Auschwitz."

Now we find that the Nazis promised the leader of the Muslim world, Haj Amin al-Husseini, leadership of Palestine after slaughter of its Jews, according to a US report.

I have long been reporting on the deep ties between the leader of the Muslim world, Haj Amin al-Husseini, and Hitler and the Third Reich. Scroll here: Islam: Instigator, Originator, Collaborator of the Final Solution.

The "peace process" is a lie. The Muslim world cannot and will not accept Israel under any circumstances. The "peace process" is Jewish surrender to Isalm in installments.

Flashback: Then-leader of the Muslim world, Mufti Haj al-Husseini:

In 1943, the Mufti traveled to Bosnia, where he helped to raise a Bosnian Muslim Waffen-SS Hanjar, who slaughtered 90 percent of the Jews in Bosnia…Other Bosnian Muslim units raised by the Mufti were sent to Croatia and Hungary, where they participated in the killing of Jews.

Nazis promised grand mufti of J'lem Haj Amin al-Husseini leadership of Palestine after slaughter of its Jews, according to US report.

NEW YORK – A newly released report by the US National Archives details the close collaborative relationship between Nazi leaders and the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, indicating that Nazi authorities planned to use Husseini as their leader after their conquest of Palestine.

Husseini was paid handsomely by the Nazis for his efforts, recruited Muslims for the SS and was promised that he would be made Palestine’s leader after its Jewish population of 350,000 had been murdered.

The report, Hitler’s Shadow: Nazi War Criminals, US Intelligence and the Cold War, was prepared on the basis of thousands of documents declassified under the 1998 Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act.

“Hitler’s Shadow” is an addendum to a 2004 US government report, US Intelligence and the Nazis.

The new report’s authors, Norman J.W. Goda of the University of Florida and Richard Breitman of American University, said the addendum was particularly important.

“We thought the information was significant and detailed,” Breitman told The Jerusalem Post regarding the newly uncovered facts on the Jerusalem mufti in particular.

“We thought the April 1945 contract between the [German] Foreign Office and Husseini was striking evidence of an ideological collaboration both sides hoped would continue after the war.”

Husseini, who died in Beirut in 1974, was apparently paid 50,000 marks per month, and 80,000 additional marks a month for living expenses, according to a contract with the Germans. This was a time when a German field officer typically earned 25,000 marks a year.

According to the report, on November 28, 1941, Adolf Hitler told Husseini that the Afrika Korps would “liberate” Arabs in the Middle East and that “Germany’s only objective there would be the destruction of the Jews.”

“SS leaders and Husseini both claimed that Nazism and Islam had common values as well as common enemies – above all, the Jews,” the report states.

In fall 1943, it says, Husseini went to the Croatia, a German ally, to recruit Muslims for the Waffen-SS.

“During that trip he told the troops of the newly formed Bosnian-Muslim 13th Mountain Waffen-SS division that the entire Muslim world ought to follow their example,” the report states.

Husseini also organized a 1944 mission in which Palestine Arabs and Germans would carry out sabotage and propaganda after German planes dropped them into Palestine by parachute.

“Husseini insisted that the Arabs take command after they landed and direct their fight against the Jews of Palestine, not the British authorities,” according to the report.

As late as 1945, the German Foreign Office rewrote its contracts with Husseini.

At that point, the outcome of the war was no longer in question, and therefore the contracts are significant as indications of Nazi intentions to work with the mufti in future political-ideological campaigns in Arab lands.

In October 1945, the report said, the British head of Mandatory Palestine’s Criminal Investigation Division told the US assistant military attaché in Cairo that the mufti might be able to unite Palestine’s Arabs and “cool off the Zionists. Of course, we can’t do it, but it might not be such a damn bad idea at that.”

\Husseini’s CIA file, the report states, indicates that wartime Allied intelligence organizations gathered a “healthy portion” of the incriminating evidence against him.

This evidence “is significant in light of Husseini’s lenient postwar treatment,” the report notes. Husseini was allowed to flee to Syria after the war despite enough evidence to bring him to trial as a war criminal.

“Together, the Army and CIA records will keep scholars of World War II and the Cold War busy for many years,” the report’s authors conclude.

Columbia is a hot bed of muslim nazi extremism.  Jews represent around 70 percent of the faculty and living alumni, as well as a plurality of the student body -- so is it any wonder than such atrocities are tolerated?
