Ann Coulter walks out

Ann Coulter walked out on the new Star Trek movie because it has too many minorities.  I saw the article on Facebook on a group I joined there called "The Cinefiles".  Star Trek has had minorities since the orginal series in the 1960's.  So what's the big deal about that?

I'm sorry, but I don't have the link.  All I can tell you is that on facebook, one of the groups that I signed up for called "The Cinefiles", someone linked the article on there.  It's a good group if you like movies.  I'm also on Facebook of course, any one of you can "friend" me there as well.

I keep seeing people falling for those Currant articles too. People need to learn how to read articles to distinguish between parodies and reality. A healthy skepticism of the regular news media is a good place to start. You will get a feel for their level of inaccuracy/absurdity. Then if you see articles that go beyond even that or make claims that just flat out don't make sense, then you can pick up on the parody sites a lot easier.

Well said.   

If I read something that seems out of the norm,   the course of action is an Internet search to see how widespread the report is and the type of websites it's appearing.     The Ann Coulter story certainly seems out of the norm.

Given that she is alleged to have walked out of a movie based on a franchise from the 1960's that originally went out of it's way to cast a culturally diverse "crew", it seemed to be an implausible story from the start.

The original creator Rodentberry was an avowed communist. His Star Federation is in fact a socialist utopia- a society with no personal property and no currency. Everything is rationed and centrally managed.
