Tens of thousands of supporters of Israel joined together Sunday at the Israel Day Concert in Central Park after the traditional parade. The concert, next to Central Park, saw a wide variety of speakers expressing support for Israel, among them politicians, communal leaders, and performing artists.

Among the keynote speakers was former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton. In an interview with Arutz Sheva, Bolton discussed the dangers to Israel from Iran, and the need for Israel to defend itself from the Iranian threat. “We must make an end of the Iran issue,” Bolton said, by eliminating Tehran's ability to continue to develop a nuclear weapons program.

Most importantly, Bolton pointed out, Israel could not rely on others to defend it. “When it comes to its security, Israel must remain strong and rely only on itself,” Bolton said.

Representing Israel at the event was Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon (Likud). Danon called on participants not to be “afraid of the future. We are tired of being afraid. We must, and we will, build in Judea and Samaria.

The organizers of the parade are two Jewish doctors - Dr. Joseph Frager and Dr. Paul Brody – and both expressed great satisfaction at the positive effect the parade had on the community and on supporters of Israel.

Earlier on Sunday, thousands took part in the annual Israel Day Parade in the heart of New York.

Participants included Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, MK Dov Lipman, Immigrant Absorption Minister Sofa Landver and Communications Minister Gilad Erdan.
