Eighth Day Playing for Chanukah
« on: October 20, 2013, 02:26:53 AM »
Shalom,

I am so happy that this year I can attend my Rabbis Chanukah event. This year, besides being held at a famous Jelly Bean factory nearby, the musical guest will be a band which is a favorite of mine called 'Eighth Day'. The Eighth day, in Jewish belief, holds a special significance. In one context it represents the day upon which a newborn male baby is circumcised. In the context of Chanukah, the small amount of oil burned for eight days.

Below are some of the more well-known Eighth Day videos:

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14
