What are your thoughts on Islamic studies professor John Esposito? In his book World Religions Today, he writes that both men and women are equal before Allah and Islam was the first religion to grant inheritance rights to women. But in Judaism, according to what is written in that book, women were equal to slaves and treated as property, while Hinduism considered it a bad karma to be born as women because they had lower status than their sons.
