I'm really Scottish though I live in England. I honestly think we'd be stronger as independent nations. Great Britain was only invented in 1707 as a sneaky way for England to take over Scotland and continue it's rule over Ireland and Wales. Britishness is really a fuzzy idea based mainly around idolising the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.

England, Scotland, Wales and a united Ireland each have a much stronger national identity, each with their own native language and history that goes back over a thousand years. This would be able to resist the Muslims much more effectively than a Queen worshipping fake "Britishness". Ever seen Braveheart?  ;)

Good point.

The EU, in my opinion, is an agent of globalism, and therefore must be opposed the same way other agents of globalism (Islam, multicuturalism, multinational corporations) are.

Spot on FlashIce and EagleEye.  The EU is the product of elitists and their quest towards International Socialism, sold to the masses as "globalism". It started with "free trade agreements" then other "economical", "trade", "technology" and "educational" ties using the United Nations as its model and platform and then "progresses" until each nation virtually looses its national identity.  For example, when a nation submits to enter the EU it "willfully" relinquishes many of its national, econonic, educational etc. policies which therefore erase their separate national identity.  Marx was very correct and it is growing tragically....
