After Havdalah tonight I found the following incredibly timely speech by ex-President Reagan... This one is his speech in support of Goldwater and yet his presidential qualities were vividly evident.




There are many more videos of Reagan speeches which are extremely interesting, such as the video of the 1980 debate between the peanut farmer, Jew hating, ex-president Carter versus Ronald Reagan where Reagan so obviously out-classes the incompetent nincompoop Carter.

Some wise people, myself included, believe that the Iron Dome missile defense system's technology which Israel is relying on to prevent death and destruction from the 'palestinian arabs' was developed with the help of the Star Wars defense systems which Reagan pushed during his presidency.

The 1980s was a crucial time in American history. I remember these days like yesterday (as my first memories of adulthood were in the 80s). The Soviet Union posed a unique threat to the peace and freedom of Americans. The 'Cold War' was in full bloom as each side built bigger and more destructive weapons. Some brilliant minds developed a defense system which made a large portion of those weapons ineffective.

This video discusses the goals and designs of the Strategic Defense Initiative ('Star Wars') program... It was created to sell the idea by one of the companies involved in developing the technology.

I had the pleasure of working in the defense industry during the 'Star Wars' development. A lot of effort was put into executing a shoot down of a projectile in 3-dimensional space in real time. There are many variables which must be taken into account to ensure that your shoot-down missile hits the target close enough to destroy it entirely. This challenge made early attempts difficult as the computer technology of the 80s was primitive compared to what we have today (For instance CPUs in the 80s had 8bit buses, 1MHz clock speeds, only 16-64K of memory, low capacity external storage, etc).

I voted for Reagan in 1984 (I was 19 at the time)... Here is his speech in 1983 where he lays out the SDI program to the American people.

Boy that ABC correspondent was so worried about what the Kremlin would think about SDI, he was virtually shaking...

But SDI is credited with helping bring down the Iron curtain in the 90s... Unfortunately Americas swing back toward democrats who do not project American strength has caused all the good of Reagans strong American posture to be squandered.

Reagan appeared in the cursed chambers of the UN... He was no fan of the UN so it will be interesting to hear what he said.
