NY ( Queens ) Democrat Congresswoman Grace Meng to vote against the Iran Deal

 While I strongly oppose the Democrat Party and the vast majority of the politicians in the Democrat Party,  Grace Meng deserves praise for demonstrating leadership and doing the right thing.   I don't live in the district she represents  (  Part of Queens )  but I called her office to thank her  ( 202-225-2601. ).

It's a refreshing change but it's also a reminder of what we are dealing with regarding the other NY Congressional Democrats.    With the two Senators and Steve Israel at the front of that dubious list.

How is it that an Asian has more sense than congressional Jews, on an issue that affects Jews first and foremost?

As an Asian, she knows about Asia. Iran is in Asia as is Israel. Jews are also Asian (Southwest Asian). Meng and other Orientals are East Asian. She probably also wants the Jewish vote. Jews and East Asians have some things in common. We both value family and education.

We also have things in common with India. They have Muslim Nazi Pakistan next door with nukes. China has Muslims as well.

Even before this,  I don't think Grace Meng had much to be concerned about getting the Jewish vote.   In the 2014 election,  her first re-election Congressional bid,  the Republicans didn't even have a candidate on the ballot to oppose her.   From a JTF perspective,  she certainly beats the alternative of the Democrat Jewish candidate she defeated in the 2012 Primary.   That was the first year the new Congressional Districts were in place for an election.

Some additional good news.  Two more Democrats in the House decided to vote against the Iran Nuclear Deal.    One from the San Diego area.   The other from Bayonne,  Hoboken,  Newark areas of Northern NJ.   Both are Hispanic:

The fact that NONE of the Jewish Democrats in Congress have come out against this agreement at this point in time is beyond disturbing.    Most of them talk a good game when it comes to their version of supporting Israel.   But the results speak volumes.

If the Iran Nuclear Deal veto by BHO that is coming isn't overridden,  every Democrat with the exception of the 3 House members that already came out against it should be ripped to pieces.   The rest had more than enough time to publicly commit to voting against this hideous deal:

What a farce.   Grace Meng and the other two Democrats that came out against this horrific deal figured out that it's a disaster for the United States.   Yet,  Chuck Schumer needs more time to make a decision.   Unless Schumer proves otherwise,  I believe that he's waiting for enough Democrats to commit to voting for the deal.   Then Schumer will come out against it,  making it look like he opposed it all along.

Kathleen Rice is the Democrat Congresswoman that represents the district I live in on Long Island.   The district is in a large part of Nassau County,  which borders on the NYC Borough of Queens.

While I won't give Kathleen Rice the level of credit that I gave Grace Meng and the two other Congressional Democrats that came out against the deal last week,   I think that she's taking enough risk in her own political party that I'll give her some credit:
