I am posting a topic I already raised under a different name.
The Hebrew Media is reporting that Rabbi Kahane's grandson Meir Ettinger is being threatened with Administrative Detention.
During the Oslo "Peace Process" the Left started a massive witch hunt and administrative detention against suspected right-wingers.
One of the most effective methods in stopping this was to complain about all their abuses and trampling of Free Speech to American-Jewish Media.
Since the regime feels it needs the support and needs to look good in the eyes of American Jews to help them with Congress etc. that put counter-pressure on the Israeli Leftist regime to stop Administrative Detention against good Jews.
It is a tactic that might work this time also, since Bibi wants American Jews to lobby on his behalf on the Iran issue.

One way to stop it is not to engage in lethal terror attacks.

That guy Etinger is brash and stupid and maybe it's even good for him to be put under administrative arrest if it keeps him from ruining the lives of other stupid young guys who might be influenced by his "genius" ideas.

He is a bad influence. You can read his blog, his own words, if you can read Hebrew:
http://www.hakolhayehudi.co.il/blog.php?id=20

Of course freedom of speech should give him the right to say anything he wants. I am not denying this principle. But he is walking a very thin line here. It is better that he stays a while in confinement so we may avoid some really bad consequences. In hindsight, Yishai Schlissel should had been restricted from his liberty to walk freely in the steets of Jerusalem during the gay charade.

Why not lock everyone up then? After all anyone can be a threat any time.

One way to stop it is not to engage in lethal terror attacks.

There is no evidence he was ever involved in any such thing.

There is increasing suspicion that not one Jew was even involved in the duma arson.  It is being used as a PRETEXT to persecute the ideological enemies of the state.  Even if it was true that some Jew set the fire in Duma,  why would that give a blank check to perseute an entire sector and violate their rights?  How could you justify this stalinism?

The crackdown against Jewish activists continues, as the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shabak) on Tuesday arrested Avitar Slonim ahead of what could be a controversial administrative arrest from his workplace at a moshav adjacent to Beit Shemesh.

Slonim was brought in for investigation at the ISA facility Kishon, in an arrest that comes a day after Jewish activist Meir Ettinger - the grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane - was arrested on vague suspicions of "Jewish extremist activity" and likewise brought in to Kishon.

Slonim has been living at the moshav by Beit Shemesh after being distanced from Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem by an administrative order. Like Ettinger, he was arrested on suspicions of being involved in "violent radical Jewish" activities.

Ettinger's arrest was extended by the Nazareth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday afternoon until next Sunday, after the ISA originally asked for a week-long extension. Ettinger's lawyer plans to submit a petition against the extension on Wednesday.

His arrest may be turned into an administrative detention, a relic from the British mandate used against Arab terrorists until now, under which he would face six months of endlessly renewable detention without any evidence required.

Violent investigations

Attorney Yuval Zamar of the Honenu legal aid organization, who is representing Ettinger, said Tuesday that the young activist is being subjected to violent abuse in interrogations.

Describing the shaking and other forms of violence being used against his client, Zamar said, "the harsh treatment Mr. Ettinger is receiving from the Shabak investigators and the use of violent interrogation against him, which is against the law, is very serious in my eyes, and a complaint has been transferred to the attorney general and the state attorney."

"The court discussion today only strengthens the feeling that this is an empty arrest meant only for police public relations, at the expense of Mr. Ettinger," said Zamar. "Due to the media gag order I unfortunately can't address the suspicions themselves, but it appears that this is basically a repeat on materials known to investigators for a long period."

The ISA denied the claims of violent interrogation.

The ISA has been sued at the Supreme Court in the past for violent interrogations, such as shaking the suspect, holding them in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time, and preventing them from sleeping. The Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the ISA cannot use violent force in interrogation.

Former MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari, head of the Otzma Yehudit party, said the government lost its sanity as shown in its pursuit of Ettinger, who he said has been under constant surveillance undermining claims that he established some sort of "underground organization."

Ben-Ari added that Ettinger, who has openly called for Israel to embrace Jewish Torah law, has the right to freedom of speech if Israel is indeed a democratic country.

Since Ettinger has been staying Zefat (exiled from J&S) he cannot be physically linked to anything.

That pretext is exactly what I am alarming about. No matter how false it is, in the real world, it is a very strong pretext to expel Jews and destroy Jewish settlements. It is a strong pretext to persecute completely innocent Jews and de-legitimize settlements and call for a complete retreat.

Mr. Ettinger by his own words is not concerned at all on the contrary He thing that it is good to create this sort of extreme polarization. So I am less concerned about his rights. I am more concerned about what he is up to because that can do a huge damage. Legally speaking, there is probably enough to detain him for questioning because he wrote about rebellion and not abiding to the law. Then if he is further detained under administrative arrest, sure it's a violation of his human rights.
Zelhar, if you are granting the government the power to use Administrative Detention against people You don't like, in theory you are granting the government the power to use Administrative Detention against people you do like.

I am guessing you won't sound the alarm if and when an Arab or some Jewish anarchist are put under it am I correct? I don't have a completely determined opinion about this issue because this method can be misused for political persecution but can also be utilized to save lives.

Gd bless Meir ettinger (and all of the offspring from rabbi kahane). He deserves our full support.

Don't think its a good idea. 1) Why complain to the nations? 2) The regime would think its a good thing for them. After all they are fighting "Jewish terrorism"

  - The best thing to do is to say to and in front of all "pro Israel" forums, rallies and groups about this injustice. Not to support these evil policies.

Six-month long administrative detention orders were issued Sunday morning against two right-wing Jewish activists - Meir Ettinger and Evyatar Slonim.

The orders were signed by Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on the recommendation of the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet).

Slonim was arrested last Tuesday, a day after Ettinger - the grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane - was also detained, both on suspicion of "Jewish extremist activity."

According to legal aid organization Honenu, the administrative detention orders were issued minutes before the start of a remand extension hearing at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court.

Police apparently demanded administrative detention, for fear the court would order the release of both Slonim and Ettinger for lack of solid evidence.

Under administrative detention, a relic from the British mandate period used almost exclusively against Palestinian terrorists until now, the two activists face six months of endlessly renewable detention without any evidence required.

Following the issuance of the orders, the court hearing was rendered moot and the pair were taken into custody without discussion.

The nationalist activists follow behind Mordechai Meir, a young Jewish resident of Ma'ale Adumim, who was arrested Tuesday night and immediately placed under administrative detention.

Honenu attorney Aharon Roza denounced the orders, stressing his protest against "the announcement that Ettinger and Slonim are to be arrested by administrative order rather than go to court for the remand hearing which was supposed to be held today."
Pressure needs to be put on Bibi by American Jews to save Rabbi Kahane's grandson.

A reminder of what Israeli leftists are capable of when Democratic Rights are trampled on.

Quote
Many Yemenite Jews became irreligious through the re-education programme of the Jewish Agency.[100][101]

Missing Yemenite children[edit]
There was a story that, between 1949 and 1951, up to 1,033 children of Yemenite immigrant families may have disappeared from the immigrant camps. It was said that the parents were told that their children were ill and required hospitalization. Upon later visiting the hospital, it is claimed that the parents were told that their children had died though no bodies were presented and graves which have later proven to be empty in many cases were shown to the parents. Those who believed the theory contended that the Israeli government as well as other organizations in Israel kidnapped the children and gave them for adoption to other, non-Yemenite, families.[102]

In 2001 a seven-year public inquiry commission concluded that the accusations that Yemenite children were kidnapped by the government are not true. The commission unequivocally rejected claims of a plot to take children away from Yemenite immigrants. The report determined that documentation exists for 972 of the 1,033 missing children. Five additional missing babies were found to be alive. The commission was unable to discover what happened in another 56 cases. With regard to these unresolved 56 cases, the commission deemed it "possible" that the children were handed over for adoption following decisions made by individual local social workers, but not as part of an official policy.[102]

I don't know exactly what comment to make about this news story but since it is relevant to the topic I will quote it.

(Left wing) Btsellem comes out against Administrative Detention both for right wing Israeli prisoners and obviously from their point of view, the Arabs.

Because she is categorically against it even when it is used against Arab terrorists from Judea and Samaria that are not citizens of Israel and are otherwise sheltered by the Palestinian Authority and armed terrorist militias. That is by the way the overwhelming majority of administrative arrest cases.
