Most of Israel does not like Pollard, they consider him a thorn to "US/Israel relations".

This didn't betray Pollard. Pollard himself does not support the legislation as it says in the article. He doesn't want to draw attention since it may hurt his legal battle and may lead to the US Government accusing him of violating his parole agreement.
