My inclination is to say that there should be states/countries that are ultra left wing bastions and ones that are ultra right wing bastions.  Then you sit back and see which ones prosper.  Here's the problem, though.  I have a friend who is as left wing and liberal as anyone I know.  He works in Boston, Massachusetts, which is an appropriate place for him.  However, he chose to purchase a house and live in New Hampshire.  Why?  Because there is no state income tax.  Viola, the hypocrisy of the left and why my idea will never work.
