Qassam injures dozensRocket launched from northern Gaza lands in western Negev military base, injuring over 20 soldiers, the largest number of casualties from a Qassam attack Hanan Greenberg Latest Update: 09.11.07, 02:31 / Israel News Twenty-five Israelis soldiers were injured when a Qassam rocket launched from northern Gaza landed on a military base in the western Negev early Tuesday morning. Approximately a dozen are moderately injured and the rest appear to be lightly injured. This is the largest number of casualties from a Qassam attack to date. The Salah a-Din Brigades - the military arm of the Public Resistance Committees - took responsibility for the attack. Abu Mujahad, the organization's spokesman, told Ynet that the brigades had launched two rockets into Israel. The army confirmed that a rocket had landed in the Zikkim base, about 1 kilometer north of the Gaza Strip, adding that soldiers were being treated on the scene for various injuries, but will be transferred to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon. Magen David Adom reported sending 20 ambulances and two support helicopters to the scene. Advertisement The rocket was launched from the area of the Gaza town of Beit Hounan. IDF troops identified a single launch that landed near the base. The area where the rocket landed has formerly been the target of several rocket attacks and, consequently, fortification projects were being undertaken in the area. It was decided not to fully fortify the area, so there were only partial protections in place. Nonetheless, military sources posit that even these partial fortifications prevented a much larger catastrophe from occurring. AP contributed to this report
As Dexter pointed out there are NO news blackouts re: missile attacks, so the arabs know where they're landing and can adjust the trajectory of the next one!! And (BTW), what will the olmert (YSV'Z) government do?.......NOTHING!!!
Looks like they are learning from those Iranian/Hizballah experts that went in to train them. Olmert has probably already commenced Operation Do Nothing.
i dont' get it..the article says the most "casualities" and then remarks 20 injured soldiers.. Pardon my English but aren't casualities usually dead?nevertheless, carpet bomb and reoccupy and never give back the land...
i think it's 36 now
How could this happen?!Where is the Israeli Intelligence? There MUST be a QUICK and SEVERE response...
This will likely lead to more attacks against Jewish pioneers in Judea/Samaria by Israeli thug police. Every bomb that hits makes Olmert salivate about surrendering. What does Olmert care? He lives in Tel Aviv or some place nowhere near the bombing and he lives like a fat pig.

Now Olmert will say "We will response properly"-->he will be angry at his speech
