"Black filth." Like a phrase that would have done a segregationist Dixiecrat proud near the beginning of the Civil Rights movement, perhaps it's similar to the kind of thing you might hear amongst latter-day separatists. I wouldn't know. It sure sounds ugly - which is why I decided to use it.

As I've indicated in earlier columns, it's bad enough when prominent (self-appointed) minority civil rights leaders pimp "their people" in the name of personal glory, power and financial gain. But when one of these individuals - some considered near-deities by their indoctrinated followers and dullards of the rank-and-file far Left - manifests unbridled and unregenerate bigotry, it's time to call a spade a spade.

You can decide for yourself whether the pun was intended or not…

Last week, Saturday, Andrew Young, the Black civil rights leader, former Atlanta mayor and the first Black US ambassador to the United Nations resigned as Chairman of the Working Families for Wal-Mart lobbyist group. His resignation was the result of comments he made to the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper intimating that Wal-Mart's encroachment into mom-and-pop markets was good because "Those are the people who have been overcharging us [Blacks], selling us stale bread and bad meat and wilted vegetables. And they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they've ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it's Arabs; very few Black people own these stores."

Through Working Families for Wal-Mart, the company was implementing a plan to significantly expand into urban markets over the next two years, ostensibly to provide jobs. Things don't seem to look too bright for this design right now; Wal-Mart reportedly said it was "outraged when the comments came to our attention," and "dismayed that they would come from someone who has worked so hard for so many years for equal rights in this country."

I'd wager there aren't any Black conservatives on the Board of Directors at Wal-Mart...

It's no secret that Andrew Young is a left-leaning Democrat. It's more of a secret that the leadership of the national Democrat party has been taken over by the far Left. It's an even bigger secret that these people are essentially Marxists, once you take off the label and see what's really in the jar.

Now, if you tell swing voter types (the most important voting bloc in America, when you get right down to it), that the leadership of the national Democrat party are de facto Marxists, you'll be hard-pressed to get them to take you seriously.

It's no surprise to conservatives, however, that anti-Semitic rhetoric is beginning to flow freely from the American Left at a time when anti-Semitism is threatening to become even more of a menace than it was in the 1930s and 1940s.

The Jewish people are unique in that their identity is not only tied to an ethnic group (or a major ethnic group and a handful of sub-groups) - but also to a faith. Although many "ethnic" Jews are not necessarily "practicing" Jews, this is one of the primary reasons Marxists have always been anti-Jew, as well as being anti-free-thought and anti-religion in general. In the end, the State must be god.

Although it is not a Black versus Jew issue at its core, there has of course been a historical latitude given Black leaders regarding racist faux pas since the Civil Rights Movement.

When incumbent Senator Joe Lieberman (a politically sane Jewish Democrat, by the way) was defeated in the Connecticut primary earlier this month, who was standing in front of the cameras beside the winner, ultra-far Left, anti-War on Terror, pro-abortion, open borders, pro-gay marriage Ned Lamont? Why, pimps extraordinaire Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

As National Review's Rod Dreher wrote in an April, 2002 column referencing Kenneth Timmerman's best-selling book Shakedown, "Jackson's only brush with Jew-bashing was [not] his infamous 'Hymietown' remark in 1984…

In August of 1979, [President] Carter sacked Andrew Young, his ambassador to the United Nations, after the black former mayor of Atlanta met privately with the Palestinian Liberation Organization's man at the U.N. Jackson, a friend of Young's, publicly insinuated that Jews brought down Young, and complained that Jews were false friends of blacks.

A month later, Jackson announced he would go to Beirut to meet with Arafat, who was living in exile there. Citing media reports at the time, Timmerman quotes Jackson as telling Arab-American supporters gathered at PUSH headquarters: 'By October 1, there will be no black leader left willing to come to the aid of the Palestinian cause, if there is not an immediate infusion of funds into the black community from the Arab states.'"

Racketeers by choice, anti-Semites by allegiance.

Whether you're talking about Young, Jackson, Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Barack Obama (who's been somewhat more reserved than the rest thus far only because he's smarter), Cynthia McKinney, Maxine Waters or Charlie Rangel, the true "colors" of these so-called arbiters of civil rights justice are now shining through. They know what side of the bread their butter is on, and who puts it there.
