The problems in this world have always been negative JEALOUSY and pointless ENVY.  It's because of these things we have cold blooded murder, liberals and muslims.

Remember the first crime that really really pissed Gd off was Cain's murder of Abel..and what lead to that murder was jealousy and envy.

I don't say that the first crime in the world was eating from the Tree of Knowledge quite frankly because Gd purposely planted it there so that "Man" can also learn right from wrong and wrong from right...so that he can finish Gd's creation of the universe.

Think about why are liberals and muslims and certain blacks and many germans especially back in the day of Hitler, a big problem in this world? Why was Martin Luther and Mohammed problems?  Because of negative envy and negative jealousy...I firmly believe that if jealous and envy and fences built around anything that can lead to envy and jealousy were built, we would have something like world peace and perhaps an ushering of Moshiach.

In Judaism, this starts by giving tzedaka regularly, doing selfless acts once a day, treating almost everyone with dignity, thanking Gd for a lot of things one takes for granted, loving and honoring one's parents, rebuking wrongdoers, accepting criticism as a form of love, being comfortable with oneself so that nothing can consume their heart, and realizing one's own envy and jealousy when it happens (for it is a human trait)...amongst many other things.

Though humans do have a natural instinct to envy things and people, you're right that it takes moral and religious actions to rid of such feelings but power, status, greed and many other factors can consume a person and spur on everlasting envy. I think it takes envy and jealousy in this world to distinguish between the righteous and those who aren't, it also clearly warns us of its consequences through example in other people who are envious.

So as long as they have their precious welfare state, they won't give a damn about illegal immigration, and terrorism.

Sometimes multicultralism is a good thing and increases our awareness of the fact that we live in a shared world and have to understand each other to do so. Forms of supremacy usually begin to reign when a society lacks any form of multiculturalism.....though you can still live in an all same religious environment with multicultralism intact, it makes things a lot more interesting but only when its legal. Illegal immigrants and excessive outsiders disrupt a countries true roots especially when things begin to change for the immigrants, just to suit them and disregards natives.

I thought Materialistic people referred to those who value material things, meaning to say indulge in a lot of luxury and worldy objects leaving behind reality.

Yes, people do work hard to invent objects but in 1st world countries i.e the west, people are already provided with most things, they just pay for them with money earn't.

Thats a brilliant post but it doesn't defer from your original contemplation dannycookie! You're still fighting envy and jealousy, which already naturally survives in human nature, to become a better person. You aren't so much needing to use it because its already there in everybody, the good people are just those who can keep it down.
