United Nations - Former New York Gov. George Pataki is headed to the United Nations, where he said he hopes to help the United States and other nations reduce their dependence on oil.
President Bush tapped the ex-governor as one of three representatives to the UN's General Assembly.
The three-term Republican governor said he's excited about the three-month gig representing U.S. interests in the global body _ particularly for the chance to talk to foreign leaders about climate change.
"The policy will be determined by the administration and the State Department, but I would hope to have input to shape that policy," he said. [ap]
