Sorry, I beg to differ.  There's recorded  evidence of Jews in Greece dating back to the 4th century B.C.E..  In fact, Greece had a large and thriving Jewish population until WWII, when the Germans invaded and occupied the country and wound up sending almost 46,000 Jews to Auschwitz.

I think I said it's the oldest because my dad went to the museum in museum of The Jewish Ghetto in Rome and he brought me back an information sheet which was part of  my source of information.

At the risk of offending the Italian members of the forum, here goes.  That's okay, since Roman civilization ripped off practically everything from the Greeks. ;D  Of course, there are those who will say that ancient Greek civilization was ripped off from Africa. ::)
