RationalThought110:
I sometimes get confused when I see Prussia mentioned.  Was Austria part of it?

Also, when they say Western and Eastern Europe, what were Germany, Austria, Poland and Prussia considered?

Shoshana:
Thanks for the answer. I wasn't sure either.

Ultra Requete:
All countries between Germany and Russia can be called Central Europe. geographic middle of continent is located near Lodz in Poland.

--- Quote from: Yacov Menashe Ben Rachamim on September 18, 2007, 07:35:11 PM ---Prussia was part of modern day Poland. It was carved out of Germany to punish Germany for the war. Prussia had been the militarist part of Germany that unified Germany. Prussian militarism is what led to German nationalism and eventually to Nazism.

Poland is Eastern Europe. Germany is Western Europe. Austria is also Western Europe although they both could be considered Central Europe. Eastern Europe generally refers to the areas that were Communist during The Cold War. So the former East Germany could be considered to be in Eastern Europe.
