The people that scammed America said they'd undo all their scamming and Make America Great Again and they bought it.
This isn't a problem that couldn't have been foreseen. Americans are more likely to buy something online or on the phone that is an actual scam than anywhere else, and even in trying to deal there, if you want to make a quality product that will make people money you sell in Europe, and everyone buys. USA if isn't not cheap garbage, never mind that their company will work slower and worse for less money, whoever makes it cheaper gets it, and a small (but encouragingly growing) number of people actually educate themselves on products, but then there's a list of other things like ego and trusting something more because they knew of it's existence first, even if they knew that it was a scam the whole time, that make it worthwhile for anyone who wants to sell worthless junk you know won't do what it says well or for long, but the mentality is if you can pay less now, you got the better deal.
^That was explained poorly but I don't have time to correct it. The point is that from a business standpoint, you would try to make a product look like a Trump, not a Cruz.
