Kay yeah muslim rule sucks. When they were in power it was just as bad for us. Theres a Chassidic lesson for a story that happened during that era. The Catholics from bethlehem gad a custom to bring a bag of garbage once a year on xmas or easter and put the garbage by the kotel as a symbolic screw ypu to the Jews, which made it impossible for us to pray there. When Saladin took Jerusalem, he was gretted by a pile of garbage in the choicest real estate in the city. He said this must be a trick and they are hiding something there. So he ordered soldiers to spread rumprs that there were gold coins in the garbage, are sure enough all Jerusalem was there taking pile after pile of garbage away to find the treasure. Saladin threw gold coins into the pile secretly, and when a few were discovered, everyone around frantically searched and cleared the garbage until there was nothing left. Thats the story, the Chassidic lesson is there are two ways to improve as a person. You can clear the garbage in youself as work, and it feels like lots of hard work. If instead you look for the golden things in yourself, you will clear the garbage with joy and haste, and Hashem "will throw" a few extra gold coins in to keep you searching until your soul is clean.

So yeah like boohoo sucks for them, but like not a very deep boohoo there. At least they dont stick them in statues of Mary filled with spikes until they convert.
