(Film) Dara from Jasenovac - the Sebian nomination for Oscar

(1/2) > >>

Slobodan:
"The film is set in the Nazi-occupied Croatian Ustasha regime "NDH" in former Yugoslavia during WWII. The film is told through the experiences of a little girl named Dara who is sent as a child during the Holocaust in the balkans to the infamous extermination camp complex Jasenovac, also known as "Balkan's Auschwitz", when it was ruled by sadistic camp commander Maks Luburic until the liberation. The film is the first modern WWII movie that takes place in or shows this NDH era camp"

Anti-Serbian loby (Croats, Bosnians) won. Dara of Jasenovac will not be a nominee for Oscar. But some Bosnian Srebrenica fary tale will.

Israel Chai:
Oh yeah not how the oscars work. Or the Pullitzer or any American prize. It's not the top people in film and books that give the prizes, it's politically motivated, usually nobodies that give the award to whatever leftist will get them the most profit. Honestly when I saw the title originally that said it would be an oscar, I was worried they turned the holocaust into a leftist propaganda film. The fact that it didn't win Oscar is a testament that the movie deals in reality, and isn't a tool to encourage communism.
