In addition they state openly that they are trained communists.

But there is one big difference. Mao sacrificed millions for the industrialization of China. It was called the "big jump". If you look at China today there was obviously a return of investment.

The leftie project the "great reset" on the other hand will fail. The consequence will be only the complete deindustrialization of the US and the non-ability in competition because of the rise in prices for all factors of production. Exactly the opposite of the outcome of the "great jump".
