Who ever said we will be worthy? Hashem took us out of Mitzrayim because we had reached the 49th level of impurity! Yiddishkeit was in such a dismal state, Hashem was forced to take us out!

Well being taken out of Egypt is not the same as Moshiach coming now.
I just follow the teachings of the Rebbe.
He said that Moshiach's arrival is the responsibility of every Jew. We see Jews who don't care, who don't keep kosher or keep Shabbat etc. And the Israeli government is just dreadfully secular and anti-Torah
I guess others feel that he will come when it gets really bad but the situation will be different. That's one view of it.
My view is the same as the Rebbe's. He also emphasized in Jews doing acts of goodness and kindness in order to speed the coming of Moshiach. Like him, I feel that Moshiach will come through our hard work.
I understand if you disagree, my views may just be different. The links I have to those videos explain what the Rebbe said and what I believe about this matter.

I also follow the Rebbe ZY"A, and I hope I hope I hope that Moshiach will come through our own merit, and IY"H every Jew will be Shomer Mitzvos BEFORE he comes (which IY"H will be tomorrow), but I think it is incorrect to say that he isn't going to come until we fix the despicable Israeli government.

Actually both of you could be right and both scenarios are possible, allthough many have said that the time is up (for the first option- without Messianic birthpangs), but still both options are possible, and Rav Kahane writes a lot about it being as such).

I think we are currently experiencing the birthpangs of Moshiach. And I have read Forty Years; it was actually the book that got me to become Frum.
