Moshiach ben Yosef + Jews in America
Eliezer Ben Avraham:
While I know that the Moshiach will come very soon, I fear that we, righteous Jews, have failed. Rav Kahane mentioned the number 40 in terms of punishment and it is now 40 years from 1967. As such I am afraid that Moshiach will come "in it's time" and as a result there will be much suffering before his arrival. I hope that I am wrong, but I am afraid that I am indeed right.

Correct.
Look at the the "leaders" of the State of Israel...look at America's "leadership"...look at the corruption prevalent in American Conservative and Reform movements...accepting homosexual Rabbis, promoting homosexual marriage (even mixed faith homosexual marriages), renouncing Kashrut laws & renouncing brit milah...

Indeed there is currently spiritual suffering but my fear is that physical suffering will accompany it very soon......

The physical is worse then the spiritual?
Anyway, even though what is said is true, we might (and currently) are facing many challenges, but we should never loose hope, G-d runs the world and everything he made was Tov, even Tov Meod. Whatever we face, was put by G-d and we have to deal with it the right way. Above all -the greatest damage someone can do to you is you yourself.
