The earthquake came during the days of King Uziyahu of Judah (Uzziah in English) as punishment for him trying to alter the institution of Priesthood and burning incense at the altar against the laws of the Torah.

The earthquake, also mentioned by prophets Ezekiel and Zechariah, caused massive destruction all over the Land of Israel.

Apropos:

the seal of Shebenyahu, servant of King Uzziah:

An inscription from the days of the Second Temple indicating that the bones of Uzziah were transferred to a different location and reburied as the city of Jerusalem expanded. The inscription says: "Hither were brought the bones of Uzziah, king of Judah. Not to be opened":

Nice. I love archaeology.  When I was a boy, I used to wander around museums of NYC while other cool kids did drugs.
