My guess is that he was as queer as a 3 dollar bill & that Bess Myerson was his beard any thoughts? The late great Rabbi Meir Kahane,ZT"L,HY"D said this on Koch:" Ed Koch isn't a very happy man,a little gay perhaps but not very happy!! Draw your own conclusions!!!

This is an old issue about Koch that many people who worked with him back then have commented on over the years since... It seems Koch was indeed gay but would not do anything that would cause public scrutiny... For political expediency he palled around with Bess Myerson... He should have spared himself the trouble... She was losing her marbles and ended up causing him more grief in the long run than him just being accused of having gay tendencies...  She was a petty shoplifter and if I remember correctly arrested on more than one occasion (The Bess Mess) ... The newspapers loved it... It seems Koch was the type that did not act on his tendencies and if he did it was really on the D.L... No names or shocking stories come to mind... Anthony Weiner who worked with Koch claims Koch would spend his time alone at Gracie Mansion and socially do nothing... Today politically all this would mean nothing... It might even help politically..
