Stop Playing Politics With Antisemitism - We Stand With MoveOn.org
In August of this year, anonymous individuals posted antisemitic comments on a heavily trafficked open forum run by the progressive online movement, MoveOn.org. When these comments were brought to the attention of the staff at MoveOn, the comments were immediately removed. On September 5, the Anti-Defamation League issued the following statement:
“The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) welcomed the responsiveness of MoveOn.org Political Action in removing anti-Semitic messages that had been posted on the Action Forum on their Web site.
In response to a letter of concern, Eli Pariser, Executive Director of MoveOn Political Action, has been in direct contact with ADL. He indicated that MoveOn.org found the comments abhorrent and had them removed.
ADL is pleased with Mr. Pariser's responsiveness to our concerns and believes the matter has been resolved satisfactorily.”[1]
Despite the decisive action taken by Moveon.org, the organization’s opponents have continued to wield accusations of antisemitism for political gain. Their actions are motivated not by genuine concern about antisemitism, but by other more base considerations. In the words of one of those leading the charge:
“MoveOn.org was handed an almost-unprecedented humiliation in the history of American politics. The scandal may in fact spread to destroy MoveOn.org as a viable entity while taking down every single politician who accepts its endorsement and support.”[2]
Moveon.org is one of the cornerstones of the contemporary progressive social change movement. These charges of antisemitism are an attempt by those who oppose this movement to cripple one of its most effective representatives.

Grants Received: $1,766,281 (2005)
Grants Awarded: $5,980,914 (2005)
Established in 1988, the Shefa Fund's mission was to "revitalize urban neighborhoods and support civil and human rights through community investing, shareholder engagement, socially responsible grantmaking, and funder education." It was set up not as a traditional foundation, but as a public charity that took money from donors who specified the precise groups and causes for which they want it earmarked, and in turn funneled the cash (minus a handling fee) to those recipients; this arrangement enabled the donors to avoid (if they wished) being publicly associated with the groups being funded, which in many cases were extremely radical. Such transactions are called donor-advised funds.
Founded on the premise that the United States is a nation rife with injustice, Shefa's areas of funding included social and economic justice; community and economic development; feminism and gender issues, which included Jewish feminist educational curricula; minority rights and entitlements; Middle East peace and economic development; the transformation of Jewish life, including youth funding and projects relating to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues; inner-city residents; and the disabled. Shefa also funded and promoted voting rights for all immigrants regardless of citizenship status, and it published a newsletter and contributed columns to Tikkun, a leftist Jewish magazine edited by Michael Lerner.
The Shefa Fund was harshly critical of Israeli policies in the Middle East. Its Middle East Peace Folio gave moral equivalence to Palestinian terrorism and Israeli anti-terror defense measures. This publication accused the Israeli government of engaging in widespread human rights violations against Palestinians, and of instituting "discriminatory" and "inequitable" policies that had left the country's resident Arabs "mired in deep poverty." The rest of the Folio consisted of the resumes of anti-Israel Jewish organizations that Shefa supported.
A member of the Peace and Security Funders Group, the Shefa Fund gave generously to anti-Israel activists. Shefa's goal was to help create an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, with the peace to be brokered by the United States, the European Union, and Arab nations along with outside non-governmental organizations. According to Shefa, "Israel's … occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip" was "replete with human rights violations, from home demolitions and roadblocks to torture and killing."
The Shefa Fund received more than $27.5 million in grants from 1999 through 2003. During that period, it awarded -- in partnership with 50 donor advisors -- grants to 167 social and economic justice and peace organizations, mostly in the U.S. and Israel. In addition, eight grants were awarded to Jewish feminist and Jewish gay/lesbian organizations.
In 2006 the Shefa Fund merged with Jewish Fund for Justice to form a new entity called Jewish FundS for Justice.
During its eighteen-year history, the Shefa Fund supported the following organizations: Americans for Peace Now; the Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development; the Coalition for Justice; the Council for Peace and Security; the Dialogue Project via Arab Women's Council Research and Education Fund; the Ha'Am Fund for the People; the Institute for International Politics; the Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information; Meretz USA; Rabbis for Human Rights; the Refuser Solidarity Network; the U.S. Interreligious Committee for Peace in the Middle East; 50 Years Is Enough; Accion International; the American Civil Liberties Union; Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities; the Colombia Support Network; the Institute for Policy Studies; the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy; the International Forum on Globalization; the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action; the Jewish Fund for Justice; the Jewish Organizing Initiative; the Jewish Youth for Community Action; Jews for Immigrant Rights; Jews for Racial and Economic Justice; Jobs with Justice; the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund; the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund; the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund; the Marijuana Policy Project Education Fund; Massachusetts Peace Action; MoveOn.org; the Nation Institute; the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; the National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice; the National Labor Committee Education Fund; the National Resources Defense Council; the Nicaragua Network; the National Organization for Women; Oxfam America; the Refugee Women's Alliance; the Rockwood Leadership Training Program; the Sierra Club; Stop Handgun Violence; the Texas Defender Service; the Third Wave Foundation; United for Peace and Justice; the Western States Legal Foundation; Win Without War; Witness for Peace, Bridges - A Journal for Jewish Feminists and Our Friends; the Jewish Feminist Research Group of the Jewish Theological Seminary; the Jewish Student Press Service for New Voices; Jewish Women Watching; Kolot - The Center for Jewish Women's and Gender Studies of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College; Next Generation of Tikkun Olam Activists Gathering; Tikkun Magazine; and the Organization for Sexual and Minority Youth.

Read the long list of International Socialist/Communist "Front" Groups at the bottom of this original post.
Classic Marxist strategy of creating a myriad of "fronts" with seemingly harmless names; most if not all of them containing the words "Peace", "Justice", "Equality", "Social Justice", "Economic Justice", "Against Racism", etc..... .
The unstated "mission statement" of each is to destabilize, one by one, every non-Marxist, non-Globalist, non-Internationalist, non-atheistic, democratic free government; until each succumbs from what they term "pressures from the top" with "pressures from the bottom"; colllapsing from within, and leaving a broad network of highly funded and highly organized Marxist "cells" ready to govern as "the only remaining political party" capable of "providing all the answers" to the socio-economic chaos which they themselves have in no small part created.
