Hi to everyone on the JTF forum!
To introduce myself, I am 28 years of age, a Catholic born in Canada but became an American when I was 17, lived with an uncle in Virginia (who happen to be involved in politics), hence my devotion to the subject, although moslty foreign affairs and national security issues.
Cannot remember how I came across JTF, I believe it was a year ago from the Yahoo group, The Truth About Israel. I have been a member there since about 2001, great group. Since my senior year in high school, I sort of became lost as a Catholic - always enjoyed The Tanach though. To be honest, before that I was a left-winged, socialist Palestinian supporter! While ashamed by all of this, it took years to learn and mature into the person I am now, and I am proud of that.
This past summer I took a summer job here in Canada (I'm obtaining my Masters at McMaster University) and was working in the orchards of Niagara along with many immigrant workers from Latin America. They were overtly opposed to Israel's policies and some, opposed that they even existed. This is when I started downloading Chaim's Ask JTF onto my Blackberry and listening to it throughout the day. This will sound hokey, but I always get a sense of comfort while listening. Thanks Chaim!
Gone long on a simple introduction (as usual!), but this is a serious cause, one of which I believe is life and death for a people I care about. As I tell my parents, supporting Israel "just feels right".
