Title: India and the Jews
Post by: Hrvatski Noahid on December 20, 2018, 05:00:37 PM
I heard that India is the only land in the world which did not persecute Jews. Is this true?

The Old World. The US also did not persecute Jews unless you count foreign policy or FDR not letting Jews into the US during the Holocaust.

I too never came across any such complaints from anywhere and any corners of India during the history or the contemporary times. However Muslamics should not read this to get any new evil idea.

I think their tolerant religions made India special in this regard.

What about during the Muslim occupation of India? We saw what they did to Jews in Bombay in 2008.

Well, an eminent Indologist said that Jews were not persecuted in India. I attended the speech.

Wikipedia seems to agree: "The history of the Jews in India reaches back to ancient times. Indian Jews are a religious minority of India, but unlike many parts of the world, have historically lived in India without any instances of antisemitism from the local majority populace."

During the Muslim occupation of India, weren't Hindus the majority? Maybe the Muslims persecuted the Hindu majority populace and the Jews. Or maybe compared to the Hindu idolators, Jews got special rights being that Jews are considered together with Xtians as "peoples of the book" and are exempt from forced conversion if they pay a jizia tax. I know Muslims turned Hindu temples into mosques.
