On September 2, 1986, Chaim teargassed the Soviet ballet at Lincoln Center. It was such big news that even the black TV show "The Cosby Show" was interrupted to bring the breaking news. This attack was one of the most important in the successful struggle to free Soviet Jewry.

How does teargassing innocent Russians who freed the Jews from Hitler benefit anyone??
-
The soviet union was causing great suffering to the Jews there openly persecuting them, in may ways. In order to free the Jews of the Soviet Union violent tactics were used this was one of the more prominent actions.

I dont remember this, was it successful? were any soviet Jews Freed?

The Russians weren't fighting to free the Jews, they were fighting for their own lives and freedom after hitler attacked them. I was a defensive action to stop hitler from taking over Russia, not a war to free the Jews. Russia put the Jews into semi slavery after they were freed from the nazis.

Stalin didn't plan on killing anyone because of their ethnicity he hated people equally ;D
-
What a Patriot. G-d Bless you, Chaim.
-
Stalin did hate many many people for no reason but Communism especialy Soviet Communism had a belief that Jews were especialy dangerous to the revolution hence the desire to exterminate them

anti-semitism is routed in Jealousy pure and simple. Jews have always been the most advanced people in the world, Others who have struggled need a scapegoat for their problems...

The Russians defeated the nazis out of their own best interests...not to help Jews. The fact of the matter is that Jews were--and to a certain degree still are--being persecuted by the former soviets. Actions like Chaim's tear gassing led to the freedom of millions of Russian Jews. He should be considered a hero to all freedom-loving people.

I've recently studied Stalin's actions in detail. Upto and including the time for which the second world war ran, Stalin was not an anti-semite, he was a mass murderer, but he killed indiscrimanately, he wasn't particularly targetting Jews at all. It was not until the foundation of Israel as a free Jewish nation that Stalin became an anti-semite, as he presumed that all Jews supported Israel, and Israel signed an alliance with the USA, with which he was enemies.

The Soviets supported Israel early on, even casting the deciding vote in favor of the UN partition plan that created the state of Israel, because the Soviets thought that Israel was going to become a socialist nation.
