I am vaccinated and I'm getting my booster shot next week.
Aren't you concerned though about the waning efficacy of the vaccine?

LOL it's amazing how neither ivermectin nor hydroxychloroquine have ever shown efficacy against covid, hydroxychloroquine has failed in multiple prophylaxis studies, and yet they tout both of these things with ZERO evidence behind it while telling people NOT to take vaccines which were trialed successfully in over 40,000 people and since then dosed in millions, showing reduced rates of death and hospitalization all over the world. But no, trust them because they think this idea works, and they have a medical degree!
It is unfortunate that people outside the medical field who worship this crew don't understand that having an idea means absolutely nothing. There are untold thousands upon thousands of ideas for drugs every year and >90% do not work and will never lead to an approval. Lots of them unsafe, lots of them inefficacious, and plenty that are both.
Yet almost all of them are "good ideas" and work well in cell culture experiments first. Or else they would never be pursued at all.
As someone inside the field of drug development professionally, it is utterly bizarre to see these cults formed around this or that particular pet project insisting that this medication MUST work. There is no reason to ever assume a drug works without proving it in human clinical trials.
It's like these people think their favorite chemical molecule is somehow "special."

Yes, and I think anyone over 50 should get the booster after 6 months, no questions asked. Each shot is creating more and more cellular immunity, so the hope here is that not only will it take longer for the antibodies to wane this time, but the memory response will also be stronger against future breakthroughs. This is a nasty virus, so if better immunity requires 3 or 4 shots of these products, then that's just the reality we have to face. It is certainly unfortunate though.
Under the age of 50, I am waiting to see what happens if large numbers get it. The breakthroughs don't seem like a danger to young people who are vaccinated, unless they have compromised immune systems or some other major issues. But they are often symptomatic with loss of smell, etc.
The efficacy against severe disease has actually not waned at all, despite the waning in efficacy on infection and symptomatic infection as antibodies have waned and Delta came to dominate.
The booster is producing delta neutralizing titers 10 times higher, so it definitely helps.
