Is privatization the proper term?  Don't you mean "personal accounts?"

I'm concerned that the baby boom generation is going to suck the system dry and that there might not be anything left for us by the time we reach retirement age. I think something needs to be done to either preserve or reform social security if we wish to have anything left by the time we retire and if we want to preserve it for our children and grandchildren. But I'm not so sure privatization is the answer. As corny as it might sound, I think that Al Gore's "LOCK BOX" idea might be the only viable solution. We can't keep raiding and borrowing funds and expect that there's going to be anything left for the future.

Certain things should NEVER be privatised.

Defense forces, jails, the postal service and social security should remain under the direct control of a government.

Remember, in this age of globilisation you can't stop foreign investment & take-overs. You wan't a Saudi company in charge of who gets their check each month?
