Yeah, but its quicker than just about anything on the road.
-
What the heck, if it's fast and under $20,000 I'm game
-
Have you ever been in one? What do they cost?

No. I've 'raced' with them.
I don't know what they cost.
-
Scriabin, I think it's kinda pricey, I think it's close to $25,000. I( remember reading that
-
How do you think it looks?
-
it kinda looks like a box on wheels

It answers your question. It is 'the fastest new car you can buy for under $25,000'.

It looks terrible, but you're asking about speed.

I used to have a 1979 Trans Am, 6.6 liter, with the giant bird on the hood
-
Same car as Smokie and the Bandit

I loved that car as a child.
Ponch from C.H.I.P.S. had one, I remember.

Did you buy it new?
-
I bought in 1987, with like 55,000 miles on it.
-
My dad had a gold, second-generation Firebird Trans-Am around the time I was born. I didn't realize you were that old, The Shadow!

I'm the one who's old. I was a kid when that car came out.
The Shadow bought it used.

Zev, time for you to go to bed
Ha! ;D

Oh, I get it now. This is a mid-life crisis thing, isn't it. ;)
-
Zev, I'm only 38 for crying out loud. Now isn't it B-E-D time

I'm thinking the Mustang GT.
The New Mustangs are very nice they look quite a bit like the older ones they first made in the 60's. They are very quick even with the standard engine. The V8 is fast. Last year Ford put out a special edition Hertz Shelby. This car was not sold to the public. Hertz had 500 of this car and they will be sold when Hertz is through with them as used cars. Hertz and Ford did this once before about 40 years ago and the original Hertz Shelby's are a rare collector car. Unlike the standard Mustangs the Shelby's will still sell for a very high price. I have driven the Shelby and the regular V8 Mustang and there is really not all that much difference in them except for the look. The regular one is a great deal since it will be about half the price of the Shelby and is still a formidable mussel car.

How about the most fuel efficient? The SMART Car. :)

Scriabin,Thou dost showeth thine age!But I love the new style stangs. O0

The WRX is not only the quickest car but it'll get all it's power to the ground (thanks to All-Wheel-Drive) and take off in a straight line. A conventional V8 will just go sideways when you boot it at the lights.
The Subaru will also provide years and years of solid, trouble free motoring. The local cars will be a pain during their warranty period and a nightmare after it expires.

How does it perform in crash tests?
What happens to the car when some young punk trying to imprezza his girlfriend slams the car head-on into an oak tree at 100 MPH?

Hey Newman- What does the Subaru WRX cost without leather seats, and a sunroof, fancy wheels, just bare bones- meaning air condtioning, and power power locks/windows/ cd player?

"What is the gas mileage of smart?
Engineering and testing continues to take place on the vehicle that will be produced for the United States. The vehicle is designed to achieve 40 plus mpg under normal driving conditions and current standards. The gas tank of the smart fortwo is 8.7 gallons."
My Geo Metro gets 50! The European Smarts get over 70.. we're getting ripped off. I'll stick with my metro O0
