I wasn't that familiar with the man until I came here, vaguely remember hearing about him and his assassination. I just was watching his interview on YouTube in the 80s in the American midwest. Can't believe how prophetic everything he said turned out to be. Said the Sadat would be assassinated by extremists, the US would experience terrorist attacks on their soil and Syria and Iran would rise to lead the Middle East. I'm probably missing a couple of things, but wow, what a tragedy he was assassinated and not elected as PM. He saw things crystal clear that Israel would never have true peace until Messiah comes and that Israel had to show strength to the Muslims. The only thing he had wrong was his staunch faith in Sharon.

listen to his lectures/videos on youtube, just search "kahane", also many of his books are remarkable. Despite the fact that all his work is over 20 years old, sadly it is still relevant

Thanks, I will do. I really like him, he was a straight shooter. I would refer to him as a statesman, unlike all the mealy-mouthed weasel politicians the west is stuck with now. Cut from the same cloth as a guy like Churchill. That makes me so mad he was assassinated by Al Quada. May Mohamed be confined to the lowest and hottest part of hell.

well duhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I don't think Sharon held a political position then.

I'm pretty sure he mentions Sharon in his talks, but I'll listen more carefully again.

It's amazing to listen to debates he had 20 years ago. He was right about EVERYTHING. The greatest Jewish leader since Solomon!!

Yeshuadisciple, I do believe the CIA helped al-Qaeda murder Rabbi Kahane. The CIA has collaborated with al-Qaeda at other times, such as when it used it as a conduit to get arms and funds to the Albanian Muslim Nazi terrorists in Kosovo in the late '90s.

That wouldn't surprise me, I've heard that the CIA trained them in the first place to fight against the Russians in Afghanistan; keeping ties for various errands would not be beneath the CIA. The tragedy is that the movement hasn't gained more steam. You still have these secular Jews running Israel like Olmert who want to give it all away. How can Olmert be putting more land on the peace table when rockets are raining down on Israel from Gaza? It's insane. Israel has to rely on G-d and stop relying on these worthless allies. It's like Israel's alliance with Egypt before the Babylonian captivity; G-d compared it to leaning on a broken reed and it angered Him.
-
The problem, YD, is that secular, brainwashed Israeli Jews all believe that these surrenders and handovers will, eventually, bring them "peace". They don't know any better, and not knowing G-d, have no hope and faith whatsover that he will get them through any crisis and will provide them with the victory if they fight.

I wouldn't go that far. What about Eliyahu Hanavi, Chizkiyahu, the Tannaim, the Amoraim, Rashi, HaRambam, etc.? Rav Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D (along with the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZT"L in my opinion) was one of the greatest leaders in recent history - but not the greatest since Shlomo.
-
Why did he debate Olmert? Who was Olmert back then that Kahane thought it would be good to debate him? It wasn't known that Olmert was going to become a prime minister.

I believe this debate was in 1988 - so that would mean that he was serving as a "Minister without Portfolio," responsible for minority affairs.
-
If Kahane wasn't sabotaged by the Israeli leaders at that time, he would have become prime minister of Israel. Israel would be a different place today. A whole lot different. The Arabs would be gone. I even think Kahane would have taken back the Sinai, with all that oil.

Damascus would be ours too.

KAHANE was too important not to have had body guards. If Chaim was guarding Kahane that day, he would be alive. you know would Chaim would have blown that guy away
-
He didnt want bodyguards, he said it looked like u were weak. Or at least bodyguards that were visible.

he was never really concerned about his own personal safety...

I can only hope Chaim is better prepared in case Jihadis are trying to assassinate him.

I doubt "Jihadis" are trying to assasinate him.

You misspelled him in on your topic subject :p It's Kahane.

He was indeed very smart. His ideas are perfectly fine for me.
