Due to a severe virus/spyware/adware infection, I may not be on here for a while.

Backup important files from your computer. Then use your system install disk to do an initialisation and reinstall your OS, 99% of viruses will be sorted out through these few simple steps, that can be carried out in one afternoon.

If I rememeber where that stuff is...  :-\

Right now my computer isn't doing so badly. It's like malaria I guess... a chronic disease, but you have bad moments in it and not-so bad moments.

I definitely plan on getting this taken care of ASAP, but a family member who does these things has not returned my call yet.

I bought a mac five years ago.
Never had any major problem...
Until yesterday...
But I solved it by deleting one corrupt file.
Lucky I still knew some unix-commands, because my 'Finder' completely flipped.

If only we could :
Rm -r /Humanity/Religions/Islam

Just get a good antivirus. I have trendmicro and its great. It works way better than norton or mcafee. I would get a mac but its so much more money.

Good one, but deleted files can always be recovered.  What you really want is

shred /Humanity/Religions/Islam

It is true most P.C. computers get more viruses and end up crashing.

I would never get a mac due to their jacked up prices. Just get a good antivirus and you will never have problems. Many people just never get this relatively cheap program and then have issues.

Computers are seriously so cheap today. I recently got a 12.1" everex laptop which is under 4 lbs for 599 including shipping. The scary thing is that the computer has very high end specs. It is Dual core with all these really high end components. The same exact notebook from toshiba ad sony is $1999. It's true that this is not a high end brand but so what? I have a one year warranty cause I bought it from an authorized dealer so I am covered. Just go to Tigerdirect where I got my pc and I am sure you will get cheap deals.

Actually Macs are not that much more expensive.
If you know the operating system, you definetely agree.
But, if you have enough time&brains to use and maintain PC,
that's fine with me

Recently on CBS's "60 Minutes", there was a segment about a computer that's being sold for under $300 I think.  However, people would be required to buy two and the second one would go for free to someone in another country.
